The 382nd Infantry attacked toward Bloody Ridge west of Dagami on 2 Nov 1944, repulsing Japanese counterattacks, and battling on the ridge 5-7 Nov 1944.

Wounded in action: 7,181
Died of wounds: 473 ( including my dad )
He was wounded on Nov. 17 1944  during the battle on the Island of Layte in the Phillappens...

He faught bravely. Five years later he died from his wounds. Leaving behind a loving wife and a 10 month old daughter.
